New TCG in Development

What Is Genome: Apex Shifting?

Genome: Apex Shifting is an upcoming indie trading card game built around evolution, ecology and competitive strategy. Players command entire ecosystems rather than relying on a single species, faction or hero.

Each player develops an ecosystem filled with creatures, predators, prey, environmental effects and evolutionary possibilities. Genes can strengthen existing organisms. Afflictions can destabilize an opposing ecosystem. Climate cards can transform the battlefield. Hybrid cards can combine evolutionary paths into powerful Apex organisms.

The primary objective is to reduce your opponent's Dominance to zero. How you accomplish that depends on the ecosystem you build and the evolutionary strategy you choose.

Build an Ecosystem

Develop a functioning network of creatures, resources, predators and survival strategies.

Splice Powerful Genes

Enhance creatures with new genetic traits, abilities and evolutionary advantages.

Spread Afflictions

Infect enemy creatures and disrupt the balance of opposing ecosystems.

Manipulate the Climate

Change environmental conditions and force both players to adapt their strategies.

Create Hybrid Apex Predators

Combine evolutionary traits to unleash organisms capable of reshaping the battlefield.

Destroy Enemy Dominance

Win through aggression, adaptation, disease, attrition or overwhelming evolutionary pressure.

The World Behind the Cards

What Is the Story of Genome?

Before mankind ruled the Earth, the gods ruled mankind.

Long before recorded history, the gods did not wage war against one another directly. Instead, they chose human champions. Entire civilizations became extensions of divine ambition.

Odin rallied the Vikings. Zeus commanded the Greeks. Tyr and Ares each forged warriors in their own image. Ra watched over Egypt. Amaterasu guided Japan. Every pantheon cultivated its people, believing its followers would one day establish the dominant civilization of the world.

Every conquest, every crusade and every empire became another move in a game played by immortal hands.

Why Did the Gods Abandon Humanity?

Time changed mankind.

Humanity grew independent. Faith weakened. Nations stopped belonging to gods and began belonging to themselves. People no longer marched because Odin commanded them. They marched because kings demanded it. They no longer sacrificed for Zeus. They questioned him.

The gods had not lost their power.

They had lost their influence.

What Was Loki's Proposal?

It was Loki who first spoke the idea aloud.

If humanity had become too unpredictable, why continue relying upon it?

Why wage wars through creatures capable of doubt, rebellion and free will when evolution itself could become the battlefield?

The other gods laughed.

Then they listened.

Loki proposes using evolution as a battlefield in Genome: Apex Shifting

What Is the Apex Shift?

The pantheons abandoned humanity as their chosen armies and turned their attention toward life itself.

Ecosystems became kingdoms. Evolution became a weapon. Predators were reshaped. Species were rewritten. Every mutation was intentional. Every adaptation served a god.

The old wars never ended.

They simply found new soldiers.

Competitive Tabletop Strategy

How Do You Play Genome: Apex Shifting?

Players begin with an ecosystem and a strategy for survival. Creatures enter the battlefield, interact with their environment and create opportunities for attack, defense, growth and adaptation.

Genes enhance creatures with new abilities. Afflictions weaken or infect opposing organisms. Climate effects alter the conditions of play. Hybrid Apex cards represent impossible evolutionary leaps capable of changing an entire match.

Players reduce opposing Dominance through combat, evolutionary advantages, environmental disruption, disease, resource pressure and ecosystem control.

No two games develop in exactly the same way because every ecosystem changes according to the creatures, Genes, Afflictions, Climate effects and tactical decisions played during the match.

What Makes Genome Different From Other TCGs?

Genome treats the ecosystem itself as part of the battlefield. Creatures are not isolated units waiting to attack on command. They exist within a larger network of predators, prey, environmental pressures and evolutionary possibilities.

Players are encouraged to build strategies around ecology, adaptation and interaction. A fallen creature may feed another organism. A Gene may turn an overlooked species into a major threat. An Affliction may spread through an opposing ecosystem. A Climate shift may transform a reliable strategy into a desperate fight for survival.

This creates a strategy card game where the battlefield changes continuously and survival depends on more than simply playing the largest creature.

Alpha Deck Lineup

What Starter Decks Are Available in Genome?

Is Genome a TCG, CCG or Board Game?

Genome: Apex Shifting is designed as a competitive tabletop trading card game. It belongs to the same broad family of games commonly described as TCGs, collectible card games, customizable card games, deck-building games and strategic tabletop card games.

Players searching for new board games may also find Genome through its tabletop strategy, ecosystem management, asymmetrical starter decks and replayable competitive gameplay. Unlike a traditional board game, however, the primary components and strategies are built around cards, decks and evolving combinations.

Why Does Evolution Matter in Genome?

Evolution is not merely part of the artwork or story. It drives the mechanics of the game.

Every creature can be enhanced through Genes. Every Gene can change how that organism interacts with combat, resources, predators, prey, Climate or Afflictions. Hybrid Apex organisms represent radical evolutionary transformations capable of redefining the battlefield.

Every ecosystem evolves differently. Every match produces a new chain of adaptations. Every battle tells a different story.
